Ana lives in a small flat. She does not have a garden, but she has a sunny balcony. On Saturday, she buys a pot and some tomato seeds.
Every morning, Ana gives the plant a little water. She looks at the pot before she goes to work. For many days, she sees only brown soil.
One morning, there is a small green leaf. Ana smiles and calls her neighbour, Luis. He has plants on his balcony too.
“Do you want some help?” Luis asks. He shows Ana a good place for the pot. There is sun, but the wind is not strong.
In summer, Ana has three red tomatoes. She gives one to Luis. “My first garden,” she says. They eat the tomatoes with bread.
