Today is Tom’s birthday. Julia has a cake, balloons, and a small card. The family is in the kitchen.
Julia looks at the cake. There are candles, but there is no candle with the number eight. Tom is eight today.
Tom will be home soon. She looks in a drawer and finds two small candles: a six and a two.
“Six plus two is eight,” Julia says. Her older brother, Ben, laughs and puts the candles on the cake.
Tom comes in and sees the cake. He smiles at the funny candles. Tom laughs and blows out the two candles.
