It is Saturday morning, and it is raining. Ben walks along Oak Street with his umbrella. He wants bread from the bakery.
Near the bakery, Ben sees a small brown dog. The dog is wet and cold. It has a blue collar, but there is no name on it.
“Hello,” Ben says. “Where is your home?” The dog looks at him and moves its tail. It is not afraid.
Ben cannot leave the dog in the rain. He holds his umbrella over it. Then he carries it to Mrs Stone’s house. She is his kind neighbour.
