In es «dentro», on es «encima, apoyado» y under es «debajo».

in: dentro de un espacio. He puts the notebook in his bag (mete el cuaderno en su bolsa).
on: apoyado en una superficie. The black notebook is on the chair (el cuaderno negro está en la silla).
under: por debajo. The cat is under the table (el gato está debajo de la mesa).
También aparece near: «cerca de».
