Una idea para recordar
En una pregunta indirecta no hay inversión ni do: asked how many families would be affected. Las órdenes se cuentan con told / asked someone (not) to + verbo.
- Con palabra interrogativa: asked + how / why / when… + sujeto + verbo: asked how many families would be affected.
- Si no hay palabra interrogativa, asked whether / if: asked whether the decision had been made.
- Órdenes y peticiones: told / asked / ordered + persona + (not) to + verbo: told the journalists not to expect.
- Los tiempos retroceden y las referencias cambian: tomorrow → the following day, next week → the following week, here → there.
