Lucas lives in Boston. His grandmother, Rosa, lives in a small town. She has a new tablet. Today, they want to make a video call.

Lucas phones Rosa first. He uses his computer for the video call. They keep talking on their phones. “Press the green button,” he says. Rosa presses it. Lucas sees a black picture.

“Grandma, I cannot see you,” Lucas says. Rosa looks at the tablet. There is a small sticker on the camera. Rosa takes it off.

Now Lucas sees Rosa’s face. They end the phone call and talk by video. She smiles and waves. “I can see you!” she says. Her voice is loud and happy.

After the call, Rosa writes a note: “Open the app. Find Lucas. Press the video button.” She puts the note next to the tablet. Next Sunday, she wants to call again.
