Irene was late for her class. She had her bag and her coat, but she could not find her keys.

She looked on the table and under the sofa. “I can’t find them!” she said. Then her phone rang. It was her friend Joe. “Hello? I can’t hear you!” Irene said.

Someone knocked at the door. It was Mr Lee, her neighbour. “Irene, are these your keys?” he asked. “They were on the stairs.” “Yes! Thank you!”

“You can’t leave your keys on the stairs,” Mr Lee said kindly. Irene laughed. “I know! I can’t be late again today.” She took her keys and her bag.

Irene ran to the bus stop. The doors were closed, but the driver saw her and opened them. “Thank you!” Irene said. “Now I can go to my class!”
