Last summer, Dean and his sister Rosa went to a lake for the weekend. They took the train early in the morning because the road was always busy on Saturdays. There was a small hotel by the water, and there were three boats in front of it.

When they arrived, they left their bags at the hotel and walked to the village to buy some food. They carefully chose bread, cheese and fruit. Before they went back, Rosa bought a postcard to send to their grandmother.

In the afternoon, Dean rented a boat. He rowed slowly across the lake while Rosa took photos. The water was calm, so they stayed out for two hours. Then dark clouds appeared.

After the first drops of rain, Dean rowed quickly back to the hotel. Rosa laughed loudly, but she was a little scared. They ran inside and ordered hot chocolate.

That evening, the rain stopped. They sat on the terrace and watched the stars. There were no cars and there was no noise. “Next summer we will come back,” said Rosa.
