Nora and Perry had a plan. The next day they were going to walk in the hills, so that afternoon they packed their bags.

Nora had a map and a bottle of water. Perry had two apples and a hat. “I have the sandwiches,” Nora said. “So we have food, water and a map,” Perry said happily.

Then Perry looked in his bag again. “Where is my train ticket?” he asked. “I have my ticket,” Nora said. “But you do not have yours!” Perry looked and looked, but he could not find it.

They asked their mother. She had a small box in the kitchen. She opened it. “You have two tickets here,” she said. “Nora’s ticket and Perry’s ticket. I kept them for you.”

Nora and Perry smiled. “Now we have everything,” Nora said. But their mother had a surprise too: a warm blue scarf for each of them.
