On Saturday morning, Mina goes to the market. She wants to make a fruit salad for her family, so she walks past the first few stalls slowly. At the first stall, there are big red apples, sweet green grapes and yellow bananas.
“Good morning,” says the seller. “Can I help you?” “Yes, please,” says Mina. “I’d like two kilos of apples.” The seller puts them in a paper bag and weighs it.
“Do you have any oranges?” Mina asks. “Sorry, I don’t have any oranges today,” the seller says. “But I’ve got some lemons.” “No, thank you. I don’t need any lemons for a fruit salad.”
“Are there any strawberries?” “Yes, there are some at the back,” the seller says. They are small and very sweet. Mina takes one box and smells it. “They smell wonderful,” she says.
“How much is everything?” Mina asks. “Six euros fifty,” the seller answers. Mina pays and thanks him. She walks home with a heavy bag in her hand. It is a beautiful day, and her family is waiting for lunch.
