Elena always gets up early on weekdays, but on Sunday she stays in bed until nine. She never works on Sunday. Usually, she makes a cup of tea and reads a book in the quiet morning.

Her brother Marco often comes for lunch. Elena makes pasta or rice because he likes both. Sometimes they cook together in the small kitchen, and sometimes Elena cooks alone while Marco talks.

After lunch, Marco suggests watching a film, but Elena is tired. “I’d like to sleep, so I don’t want a film,” she says. “Then I’ll wash the plates,” Marco says, and he starts to clear the table.

In the afternoon, they walk in the park. It is cold, but the sun is warm on their faces. They always buy an ice cream, even in winter, and eat it slowly on a bench.

At seven, Marco goes home because he has work on Monday. Elena waves from the door and feels happy. She loves her quiet Sundays.
