Lena wanted to cut her long hair, so she called a hairdresser near her home. She made an appointment for Saturday at ten thirty. After the call, she wrote the time on a small card and put it in her bag.
On Saturday morning, Lena got up early, had breakfast and walked to the shop. When she arrived, the door was closed and the lights were off. She looked at her watch. It was only nine thirty, and there was nobody inside.
She took the card out of her bag and read it again. Her appointment was an hour later! There was a café next door, so she went inside and ordered a tea. From her table, she could see the hairdresser’s front door.
At ten, a man arrived and opened the shop. Lena finished her tea and went over. “Can I wait inside?” she asked. “Of course,” he said. “Please sit down. I just need a little time to get everything ready.” She sat by the window.
At ten thirty, the man invited Lena to sit in front of the mirror. He asked how short she wanted her hair. Lena showed him a picture on her phone. “Like this, please,” she said. She felt a little nervous, but she was ready for a change.
