It is midnight, and Lena is in bed. Her phone makes a noise. Lena sees a message from her aunt: “Look under the clock.”
Lena does not understand. The flat is dark and quiet. She gets up and goes to the living room.
There is an old clock on the wall. Under the clock, there is a small white envelope. Lena opens it slowly.
Inside, she finds an old photo of her mother. On the back, there is a note: “Tomorrow is Mum’s birthday. Shh! It is a secret.”
Lena smiles. Now she understands her aunt’s message. It is a birthday surprise for Mum! She puts the photo in her bag and goes back to bed.
