Daniel arrived early for his first day at work, but the building was bigger than he expected. He had a notebook, a pen, and the name of the meeting room on his phone.

At first, he followed a sign to the second floor. Then he saw two glass doors with similar names: Meeting Room A and Meeting Room B. He walked through the wrong door and found a quiet storage room with boxes and old chairs.

Daniel felt embarrassed, but he did not hide. He went back to reception and asked politely, “Could you show me where Meeting Room B is?” The receptionist smiled. “Of course. Could you wait one minute? I’ll find a map.” On the map, the room was behind the blue wall.

When Daniel entered the meeting room, two colleagues were already there. They smiled. “Could you close the door, please?” one of them asked. They also got lost on their first day, so they understood his problem. Daniel sat down, opened his notebook, and felt less nervous.

At lunch, Daniel thanked the receptionist again. “Could I ask you for one more favour?” he said. “Could you send me the floor plan?” Next time he needed directions, he knew who to ask.
