On Sunday, Marta took a broken lamp to a repair café at the community centre. The event was free, and local volunteers helped people repair small objects. She had almost bought a new lamp, but a friend suggested trying this first.
A volunteer called Ali asked what had happened. The lamp had stopped working after Marta moved her desk. Ali unplugged it and checked the cable carefully. Marta watched and asked questions.
The problem was a loose connection inside the switch. Ali explained the repair while he worked. He did not ask Marta to touch any wires. She wrote down the name of the damaged part.
While they waited for another volunteer to find a replacement, Marta helped organise a box of buttons at the next table. A woman was repairing a coat and needed two blue ones.
An hour later, the lamp worked again. Marta thanked Ali and put a donation in the collection box. The lamp was useful once more, and she had met people she hoped to see at the next event.
